Here is an example of how Crystal helped a school successfully with
a potentially devastating situation:
Three weeks before the start of classes, arsonists
broke into a Long Island school. The vandals set numerous fires amongst thousands of square feet of flammable plastic
which had been scheduled for removal the following day. An anxious Board of Education called Crystal
with an urgent question: Could the building be restored in time for opening day? We said, "Yes!"
Scaffolding went up, machinery went in and work began that day. In an intense effort, we removed
debris, soot, smoke and odor from classrooms, offices, the gym and the HVAC system. The school's most valuable asset,
its library, suffered heavy smoke damage which required replacement of the carpeting and individual hand cleaning of over
5,000 books. Cleaning, replacement of ceramic wall tiles and vinyl floor tiles, along with painting put the rest of
the 60,000 square foot facility back into shape.
When the first bell of the school
year rang, the building was ready! As the superintendent of schools told us in his letter of appreciation, Crystal not only finished on time - we received a grade of "A+".
